My '78 developed a gasoline leak while running down the highway. Made it home to find a steady drip of gasoline leaking from the Vapor Canister. Fuel tank is only about 1/2 full, so not likely an overflow from fuel tank.
Considering only 'vapors' are supposed to enter/exit the canister, something else has failed and allowing gasoline to flow into the canister. I am clueless where to begin looking for problem.:confused

:welcome

Mine did that years ago and it turned out to be the vacuum operated valve that sits on top of the canister. The housing had cracked at a seam and wouldn't allow the valve to port vacuum to the canister thereby allowing the vapors to accumulate to the point that they condensed out to a liquid. At least that was my theory. Epoxied the valve back together and seemed to fix the problem.

Thanks; seems like that's lot of gasoline condensing... but possible!

That's what I thought. That's why I said just a theory. :thumb
