I just tried to start my 85 coupe & it started & stopped in 3-5 sec. was running fine last night , added 2 gal of gas ,tried again ,same thing .Will not stay running even with foot on excellator ,Is this a pump or filter problem

No way of telling from that info.

Does the fuel pump run when you 1st turn the key on ?
Does it stay running ?
Do you have fuel pressure at the rails ?
What is it at ?
