Bought an "89 from a friend. As my daily driver I'm loving the car... EXCEPT...I've run out of gas twice. Both times the gauges showed plenty of fuel bars and "range". Now the "range" is stuck at 20 miles and I'm not totally sure what the Fuel bars are showing.

My question is, Is it the gauges or the sending unit?

This never happened to my buddy and I've run Techron through the tank, but no fix.

Any suggestions?;shrug

Thanks,

Wilton

Did you use Techron or Techron Plus??Techron Plus works better and faster!!:thumbI've had to do some purdy stubborn ones and it's took as many as 4 bottles!!:thumb:thumb
I run Chevron gas most of the time, except when I'm somewhere I can't get it!!:thumb:thumb:thumb
My 03 gauge starts screwing up big time after a couple tanks of ethanol laced fuel,so I dump 2 bottles in and it starts working soon after!!:thumb
I have a shop in Old Fort be glad to look at it for you if you can't get the techron to work!!:upthumbs

Thanks!!!

I left a message at your website.

I'll put enough petrol in the tank to get to the top of Black Mountain. I'll build up enough speed comming down the mountain to coast into your shop. ;0)

Range HA AHA

Get use to using the trip indicator... at least that doesn't guess.

Junkie is right... newer fuels make readings... unstable.

also running out hurts the fuel pump.
