When you remove the fuel filter from the Quad there is a plastic white round gasket. I need to replace that and have not found a place of purchase. Any idea's? Also, as for the threads on the cylinder that contains the fuel filter, no thread sealant or tape is used to prevent leaks right? I seem to be having these leaks every once in a while and tightening this has been my temporary fix so, need a new gasket and wondering if anything else should be used or can be used in this area...

That nylon gasket may be available at your local auto parts store. If not, I know they used to include one in a carb overhaul kit. And you are correct- NO sealer of any kind on those threads. And be careful when you re-install the big nut over the fuel filter. The nylon gaskets have been known to pick up the threads in the carb and follow them, causing the carb to be crossthreaded. It does not take much to crossthread the carb. It can be done by hand with no wrench.

Couldn't find anything at Carlisle this weekend. Guess I will try NAPA or AutoZone.

Try your local Chevy dealer too. I suspect NAPA is going to be your best shot.

Gaskets can be found at AutoZone in a small grab bag from the aisle. I had to use teflon tape on the fuel line end.

Should you use teflon tape? If some is cut loose, it could mess up the float or somethiong else in the carb. It orignally did not need the teflon tape, so why now does it?

I originally used teflon tape. Replaced the nylon gasket and decided to try to put things back together without teflon tape and now it leaks. So, the use of teflon tape to prevent leaks is required for me.
