My generator light is always on. I had planned on replacing the alternator but when I check the battery while it's runing it is reading 14 to 15 amps. So I guess my alternator is good. So whats my next step. This is a '79 vette. AC has been removed.

If you are convinced that all of that is working, check the 10amp gauge fuse. When mine blew the light came on.

LEE, there is a very good chance that the diode pack has blown a diode. it causes the power to flow backwards to the kight.
seen lots of them when i worked in the disney garage.
