I was just reading that in the book by Newton that there are glassy products that allow you to get a mirror and "beautiful" look on the paint job of you Vette. Has anybody ever done this? How does it look?

I moved this over to Care & Detailing for a little more exposure.

Thanks, 71Shark, and sorry for the cross-posting.

"Put on about 4 coats of this stuff"

:eek Wow! I think that looks really nice on your Vette. How is this stuff to put on like? Is it hard and require something challenging to do? Or is it pretty fool-proof?

Thanks! :D

TR...If I did it ...its fool-proof. It goes on pretty easy and just wipes off in minutes. Just use thin coats...It will give you a show car finish...I know guys that have 10-15 coat and more...Looks like you can dive into it. You know what I mean...Like your up on the starting blocks. :t There is a whole process the first time you use it...Your care should be clay barred (search for detaildudes thread about this) then Z'ed

:upthumbs I think I would like to do this when I get my Vette. I mean, there doesn't seem to be any downside to it and you just get a beautiful finish look on your Vette! I'm convinced. But, *cough* I need a Vette first *cough*. :D

There are many products that do this, in fact, 99% do that. The key to the shine is surface preparation. The key to keeping it that way is how you maintain it and what you maintain it with...... meaning using the proper tools and taking the necessary precautions to prevent damage.

What necessary precautions to take care of it are? What kind of things do you recommend? Thanks! :D
