I am missing a key for an otherwise functioning glove box. Can a good locksmith cut a key for this lock. If not are after-market glove box door locks available with keys?

I've never had it done, but I suspect a locksmith may be able to help.

Vendors (like Corvette Central, for example) can supply a glovebox lock cylinder w/key for about $30, or an entire matched set of locks (ignition, doors, glovebox, and spare tire) for about $160.

Dave,

I just had mine done by a locksmith. I had to leave the cyl. with them for a couple days but got it back with the correct key and the locks code number. As a bonus, they shear the shape of the teeth rather than grind it so the key is as original. You still need to stamp the code number on it for judging.

Remove the lock from the glove box door, and the original key code is stamped on the side of the cylinder; same key operates the glove box door and the spare tire lock.
