I am wanting to do the same with my rear, dash, and kick panel speakers. Haven't tried yet. What kind of problem are you having with the rears. Will they not fit it the mounting bracket, or the grills want go over them?
I am trying to keep the stock look. Which speakers did you use in the dash, and are you going to replace the kick panel speakers?
Thanks,
From what I remember as I tried this about 7 years ago; I could not get the grills to go over them. I tried spacers, but then they would not fit into the car...speakers were too deep. The plastic support brackets were both broken so I made new ones out of sheet metal. I wanted to keep the factory look as well....but its either better sound or factory look. But since installing side pipes...stereo sound has been replaced with exhaust note.
I only have dash speakers, not kick panel; dash speakers were no problem at all. Lots of room there. I think they are 4x6....again no problems. Think I used either Alpine or Kenwood.
