Detroit —General Motors Co. lifted the curtain on its auto show stand Monday, giving local reporters a sneak peek at its new display.
Grace Morgan, head of global auto shows for GM, said the company is trying to give each of its four brands — Cadillac, Buick, GMC and Chevrolet — their own distinct space on the show floor this year, with clear boundaries between each area.
For example, Cadillac's vehicles will be displayed on a raised glass floor, while GMC's will be a few inches lower.
The GM logo itself will be noticeably absent from the stand in January, continuing a practice the automaker began this year.
"The focus will be on the brands and the products," Morgan said. "Not on the corporation."
