Well, after all I went through I need to unload my fantastic LT4. Looks like I will be deployed to some locations I can't use the car, and my wife cannot drive the 6 speed. Soooo, if anyone out there is interested the car is posted on vette finders, not sure if I can say or do anymore on the web but I can be reached at my e-mail address. Don't even have my personal tags yet. Oh well, guess I can start over again in a few months......

Sorry to hear that Okie. Hope to see you back in the future and good luck w/ the sale. Guy

Thanks for the thoughts. The car can be seen at vettefinders.com It will be listed as 96 Torch Red LT4 At the moment I only had one picture to attach, but will try to figure out a way to get some more pics posted. Thanks again.....

Okie,

It’s unfortunate that you have to sacrifice your LT4 at this time; but remember, that the Corvette community will always be here and that once your deployment is up, you can get back in the saddle again. Thank you for your service and dedication to the USA.

Still Here

Thanks for all the kind words, I almost feel like I am trying to sell a member of the family or an old pet of some sort. At the moment I am still in the good old CONUS, "awaiting instructions" as the saying goes. Somewhat surprisingly, not a single call or e-mail on the car, so I suppose I am still a LT-4 owner, or at least that is what my wife tells me. Who knows, I may just decide to keep it, but I am a bit puzzled at the apparant lack of interest. Guess it is just the time of year. If I were home I might push the matter more, but for now I think I will just wait and see what happens. At least I guess I am still member for the Forum for now, and I am sure my son enjoys driving the car during it's weekly "exercise" periods. I did advertise the car locally in Virginia, and on "vettefinders" but still no joy.

From one service member to another...HOOOAH!!!...I know how you must feel....Not a chance that you could just put it in storage?
We are just about finishing up our rotation for Enduring Freedom. I wish you the best! Stay safe!

$23.5K @ 54K Miles

Okie's LT4 Link

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but our cars aren't worth that much anymore.... I actually bought mine for much less than that ($18,300) with only 28k miles.... and that was last December. If you really need to sell, the price is the biggest factor. If you don't really want to sell, keep the price high. A couple things to consider though: add up all the costs for keeping the car. Insurance, interest (either on a loan, or lost from not having the money invested) and maintenance (the car will be getting older, and even though it will be hardly driven, things will break)

I thought I'd let someone else let him know he was asking a bit too much.

But if Okie's willing to wait, maybe someone will come along and buy it @ that price. :upthumbs

Darn, I wish I had run across you a month ago. I was really looking for a 6 speed, but ended up buying a 95 auto. I really wanted a six speed. Want to trade? :):)

I am sure my wife would like to trade, but I would probably miss the extra 30 HP that comes with the 6 speed. I know I am a bit high, and to members I would probably set it at about 21,500. There are other out there for less I even saw one for 17,000 in Texas. Thats the one I wish I had seen before I got mine. Far as I know that one is still out there. For that much less I could have flown down and driven it back, saw some friends in Oklahoma on the way home.

Couple more thoughts on price..

To Johnny D, Hoooah right back and come home soon! To Rich 95, I know all about that timing thing, if I had an automatic the car might be a bit more of a "driver" for those who really don't need the fun and performance of a 6 speed. As far as price, I looked in "vettefinders, NADA and the "Black Book" to find the average price and the $23,500 price seemed a good place to start. I actually paid $21,500 for the car, plus tag and tax. I know, probably too much given some of the other cars advertised. I was primarily driven by wanting to buy the car from our local "good guys" and the follow up service they offered as well as potential trade in if I wanted another car down the line. I think it takes a bit more time to get really good at this type of purchase. The car is well worth the money (even the $21,500 I paid for it) but it is higher that some of the other LT-4s around the country. Depending on the world situation I may drop the price some, or consider trading it for a less expensive corvette or even an automatic, but trading down is always kind of hard to do. Thanks again for all of your responses and interest...

I know the 6 spd. Vs. Auto debate... I already have troubles with the the woman not being able to drive stick, and I am not even married yet.... when the time comes, I think the 6 speed will have to sell. ( I have tried and tried to teach her to drive stick, she can do it, but she is a nervous wreck when any other car comes near....)

Well, good luck on whatever decision you make:)
