Hey gang,

Anyone changed from the Goodyear EMT Runflats to the Goodyear GS-D3's? I'm hearing good things about them (quieter, softer ride, better traction).

I was thinking of changing tires but only because I got the mod fever when I saw a guy with the neatest looking tire tred.

Remo, I had the GS D3 on my C4 before I sold it and it is a fantastic tire. The wet traction alone is worth it.

I haven't put a pair on the C5 yet. I was looking for some when it was time to buy tires and Tire Rack was out of the rear sizes so I put another set of the Bridgestone S-03 Polepositions back on. Really like these but the tread life could be a little better. No Remo, I don't want to hear it. ;)

Edit to include pic. :)

I switched from the run flats to the GS-D3's and it is night and day. Much quieter and softer ride and much more grippy, not just laterally but hookup for acclerating as well. Wet traction is almost as good as dry traction, very little difference. Not only did I notice it but friends who would get in the car would notice right away as well. That and the fact that they look better make this a definite repeat buy. I just wish they made them in more sizes.

Also, don't just take my word for it. Car and Driver (or it might have been Motortrend) just did a comparison of 11 high end tires and the GS-D3's came out on top. Go get'm already.

Great looking tires, ur going to need some nice meats once ya get the Lingenfelter mod.

BTW - Have ya got your snow tires on for the trip over here? ;)

Let's hope I don't run into any weather issues on March 18 and 19 during the drive to Lingenfelter.:ugh

MA-IA in March?

John - I know what you're thinking. And I've had those same thoughts more than once. But you got to hang it out every once in awhile.

hey, my hat's off to you. And on the bright side, the return trip should go a lot quicker!:)

That Goodyear GS-D3 is a sharp looking tire and the spec's on Goodyears site look pretty good.

Now my question, with all else being equal=normal driving, I wonder what type of tread life they give.

That interests me as well.

This is my first pair so its tough for me to answer but I drive semi-spirited. I don't look at every stop light as a drag tree, but most rides contain some spirited event, whether it be a run through of the gears or taking turns faster then those around me. I've put on approx 4-5k miles and the tires still look great, with very little wear.

I'm sure the "Shooters" would be more than hospitable should Remo run into problems down in Indiana. 6 is just a state away!:)

They get very good wear while sitting in the garage. :D

Jim
well played

D3's are great if you drive in the wet at all, F1 supercar and BFG T/A KD's work better if you drive on dry pavement
