Flew Delta yesterday to Ft.Lauderdale and took delivery on my new, (to me), 1994 C4 6spd. FX3, an eBay auction won from Elite Auto. This is a 29K mile 3 owner w/clean "Auto Check". It was sold new and lived in Upper Marlboro MD. Apparently sat "in the wrapper" a while, emmissions were done regularly in '96, '98, '00, and then was sold in 03/02 w/127 miles on it! from that point usage is normal w/15,541mi. 04/03, and 19,059mi. 07/04. It had 29,871mi. before my 250mi. trip home to Clearwater yesterday. My theory is it may have been purchased as a gift for someone who was not comfortable with a manual trans, and let it sit out of a sense of...? duty to the grantor? What do you think? I'd like to hear some theories of those here, who I'm sure, these kind of cars being what they are, have heard some great stories over the years. I will say that I am comfortable with the fact that it sat for most of its first eight years, rather than the last eight...for sure. I believe any detrimental factors from low usage have been cleared up with the normal recent usage. Owners manual, remote and extra key set, wheel lock, top tool, and maintenance records all with car. Only apparent glitch is cruise is inop...no used car (even a Vette) is perfect, eh? So guys and gals, wadda 'ya think?

It sounds like you got a really nice ride... almost new. Make sure you enjoy it! Garage queens aren't very fun. Make sure to go to some local cruise-ins and show off that clean car.

Awesome car! Maybe we'll have to have a cruise sometime. I'm over here in Tampa and there are a couple of people on this forum out there in clearwater as well. I can't think of their names right now but maybe they'll see this post.
Again awesome car, good find!

Looks like you got a sweet ride. It's barely broken in!

Any mods on mind yet?

87blackroxi.. I'm actually in Dunedin, but more folks know where Clearwater is so unless you're local like you are... Is there a Vette night anywhere in the Bay area? Anything like bike night wed's at Quaker Steak & Lube?.. assuming cooler weather of course. I'm here in FL for two years now after 30 years in southern Arizona.. whew! this is like living behind a waterfall! Beach's sure nice tho, and Honeymoon Island is a favorite spot for me.

Edmond.. I've built a few hot rods, my last Vette (sold in '02) was a '70 L-46 4 speed that I had balanced and built up from a forged crank. With a little porting and a slightly lopey cam and a 750cfm Edelbrock she dyno'd a little over 415 rwhp. A nice strong street motor. Thing is I've been into bikes all my life, and my '02 Aprilia RST1000 runs a 11.09 1/4, 0-60 in 3.2 and gets an average near 40 miles per $2.75 gal. so I think I'll be happy with the LT-1 the way it is. The car's fuel computer said 24.6 mpg on the 250 mi. drive home yesterday, dropped to 22 for the trip once I hit stop & go. I don't want to mess that up, its so smooth w/sequential port, a great driver.
Thanks guy's.
