So I think I can put my faith in the older Carquest in town instead of the pimpled kid at another parts store. Well I guess I'm wrong on both counts. I decide to change the oil, plugs and wires first on my list of to do's since acquiring this vett. Well I ask for wires for a 66 small block, I didn't want to advertise/brag about the vette. The guy goes sure here you go 7mm plugs for a 69 camaro. I go are you sure these will fit. Yep. I being the trusting type bebop my way home and pull the first wire well a little shorter but it'll fit. The second on well nope. I doesn't fit. So tomorrow I will be returning to try and find what I need. If anyone has a suggestion on what/where to buy plug wires it would be appreciated... Dave...

Corvette sets are longer because they have to run through all of that shrouding and over the top of the carb linkage. You will be better off to just get a set specifically for your car through one of the major Corvette parts houses.

I didn't think that I would be able to get what I wanted locally but I was trying. So now I'll have to wait for the brown truck.... Dave...

most of the major parts houses (LI Corvette, Doc Rebuild, et al) end up having wires shipped directly from Lectric Limited - at least when I ordered my 1963 wires couple of weeks ago from LI Vette they came direct from LL

I agree with the other posts, but if you don't want to wait, you may try your local chevy dealer. May be a little expensive, but at
least you can have them the same day. Good luck!

You might want to ask for a set for your car. I have bought several for my '67 and NAPA always has them in stock.

Ditto on NAPA. They've had all the basic stuff I've needed (cap and rotor, plugs, points, gaskets, etc....) Just make sure you check it all before you take it home.

I kind of like the local NAPA because the guys there are true gearheads and are HAPPY to search for muscle car parts for me.

I needed an airhorn gasket and the book specied only the holly gasket for '65 and I have a carter. I brought my old one in and the guy check every bin in the back before he matched it.

They treat me like a king there because in their eyes I have a "real" car and I think they're tired of looking up brake pads and rotors.

Now pep boyz is a different story..... uhhhhhh what are points?????

I used to feel the same way about not wanting to say "Corvette" for fear of looking like I'm boasting. But I've learned a lot of these bozos have no clue that early Corvettes are cool cars worth bragging about! And the ones that do will often put a little extra effort into helping me out, so I'm no longer modest when asking for parts or help.

Thanks guys, I let him know it was a corvette after I saw 69 Camaro on the box. The reason I'm being modest is that I've met more than a few people not knowing that I have a vette and the intro would go something like this Hi I'm Dave and then Hi I'm Joe Blow and I have a vette. I know I know it only takes a few but I live in a small town and I don't know. I agree when it comes to parts you have to be specific. I think that I'm going to try the local NAPA b/c I like to support my local guys when I can. Dave..
