I have a friend with an extra race set of Grand Sport rims, I borrowed them to see what my black 96 would look like with these rims before I spend major dollars for a new set. I plan on getting the fender flares and those Grand Sport mud flaps also.

Tell me what you think. I will post pics, later this afternoon.

should give the stealthy knight rider look... I have seen other black C4's with them, they look sweet.

I totally agree with you; it'll look like a stealth fighter on wheels! A touch that I would add is painting the calipers red, that'll make them stand out and look way cool!

heres a pic with the GS Rims, that 11 inch back rim gives it a great looking stance.

stock rims

only for comparison, should of made this a poll thread

The black GS rims look real good on your car. Go for it.

Personally, I don't think you need the flares as the GS wheels fit under the stock body pretty well. You may want some 'mud flaps' though just to minimize the rear fender damage.

I have the AFS GS rims on my white 86, its badazz.

If i EVER get the money, i'm painting my car black.

Your car looks awesome with those wheels!!!! it blows the stock look away!!!!!

I hear AFS has the best deals, and I personally wouldn't do the flares until after you get the wheels. If you still think you need them after you install the wheels then get them, otherwise I like the clean lines of your car without the flares.

the search is on

Thanks for the comments. I really like them also, makes the car look faster. I have noticed I do throw alot of rocks, the tires are the Kumho Victoracer (315/35ZR17) Really sticky tire, I highly recommend them for a race tire, I've found it kinda hard to break them loose for long.

I do like the the look of the flares on the GS, black flares would blend in pretty good. Think I will get the rims and mud flaps now, see how they look with street tires! now to find the best price.

The black rims are ...

mighty :cool especially the silver highlight. Have to agree with painting the calipers.

I use the same wheels and tires on my 96 CE LT4 when i autocross.
Say NO to flares. :L
You don't really need them.
Oh, I have done four wheel high speed drifts using my autocross tires. So you can break them loose if you really wanted to.
They do stick like crazy though.

ZR-1 Wheels

I have a set of AFS 17x9.5 front and 17x11 rear that are three years old, and I just noticed a hair line crack around one of the spokes near the center. I am sure that they are too old for warrenty now so I have to have it repaired. If any one else has seen this problem from reproduction GS/ ZR-1 wheels from AFS please post. Next time I will not cheese out and go OEM.
