Joseph Szakurski, 93, of Stroudsburg has always been a car enthusiast. He's had a few old cars, which are now gone, but has never seemed to let go of the passion.
Looking through the classifieds in the paper, he noticed a Corvette for sale, but the one thing that struck him was that it was a Corvette with a Greenwood body kit. Szakurski had to have the 1986 Greenwood Corvette.
The car wasn't in the best condition, but his grandson Scotty Freeman had the mechanical and body work background that would give the car new life.
The car had sat for 15 years. Freeman worked on the nitrous-fueled 700hp motor that was seized when he bought it. He fixed the cracked body and gave it a bright red paint job. And, yes, Szakurski does drive it and he has all the paperwork.
