I finally got out to the track yesterday, and brought my handy gtech with me. Here is a comparison between the g-techs times, and the tracks times. *76 vette, stock L-48 with ProAction Heads, Hooker header/sidepipes with JCL spiral baffles, 2500rpm stall speed, 700R4 trans, 4.11 gear, dual quads (edlebrock 1405s),full race cam, 255/60/R15 tire. Times were disappointing, but compared to the high 19second car that came from the factory...

Hit Gas and went
60' 2.131
1/8 9.356 @ 75.20
1000' 12.174
1/4 14.588 @ 92.46
*Forgot to hit g-tech. 1 lane open at this time, staged, and green =( *

Brake Torque to 2500
60' 2.147
1/8 9.273 @ 76.05
1000 12.058 @ 76.05
1/4 14.406@95.45
***GTech shows 0-60mph 5.56
1/4 mile 14.11 @102.8mph

Open Headers, Brake torque *No traction at launch, going sideways*
60' 2.081
1/8 9.003 @ 77.96mph
1000 ***
1/4 14.077 @ 95.33mph

Open Headers, Brake torque, 16lbs of air pressure, no rubber
60' 2.089
1/8 9.111 @ 76.36mph
1000 ***
1/4 14.263 @ 94.32mph
***Gtech shows 1/4 mile14.71 @98mph

I am sure if I would have changed the pistons and rebuilt the engine, would be in 12's with no problem. I did all mods with 100,000 miles on the car =D and the original 8.5:1 compression ration =P Not too shabby!

**note to readers, I think the tests with sidepipes vs open headers was not 100% fair. When I took the sidepipes off, the driverside had TONS of crap inside there, possibly causing a restriction due the the headers being rusted through a bit where they connect. When I put them on to leave, the car felt stronger than when I came** **When I ran previously with original glass packs vs. open headers, open headers was a full second faster. The JCL Spiral Baffles, definently are worth their price, and shaved off a full .5 even with one side full of crap**

"Baffles............"

Joe. Thats not to bad for a bolt on product. I've got guys that have played with re-jetting and timing and have gone a little more. Did a Vette at Carlisle this year, installed them in the infield, and Mike dyno'd it there and picked up 11 HP, and 7-8+ lbs torque. He's got a stock ZZ4. Can't remember the strip times, but I think he dropped from 13.41 to 13.09. He was tickled to get that much for the effort. He's doing the re-jetting and timing now. Maybe the 12's!! Later, JIM (JCL)

Not bad at all. I LOVE the sound and performance increase. I can definently feel the difference. And to be honest with you, like I said, there was a half second difference vs open headers which I am SURE would have been less if my drivers side pipe wasn't full of crap. I mean a LOT of stuff came out. Car felt sooo much stronger on the way home with the pipes back on vs on the way up. Love your product!
