So this thing fell out - and I feel ridiculous because I have no idea where it came from. I just felt it on my left foot. I know roll pins usually have to be punched/pressed out so I am kind of in a WTF moment. Any of you have experience under the dash where you may have seen this little (well actually pretty big) guy?

LMAO!:rotfl:rotfl

Same exact thing happened to me.....a true WTF moment..

Not being sure, I had to wait until something quit working....simple process.
That goes in the hood release lever. How they work their way out is beyond me. Its hell to get back in. Just be sure that your cables are in place. It may be easier to drop the cables out of the holding clips, insert the pin, then re-hang cables. Its awkward trying to work the pin back in place and trying to hold the lever in the exact position with things pulling on it....it CAN be done. Lay on the floor, get comfortable and go for it.

Good thing it didn't ground with something electrical along the way. That wouldn't have been funny at all. :ohnoes

Talking about precaution, would it be an idea and secure a part like this.
They are open all the way, so by putting a piece of wire (thick enough so it won´t slip out the side) or zip tie through them, securing them to the part they are supposed to secure (starts to sound like NASA :rotfl) you might be able to find them back when they decide to take a hike...

Especially when talking about the headlights you were referring to.
