Do all 84 Corvettes ride like log wagons? Mine is no fun on a rough road. If they all ride like mine GM would not have sold any when they were new. I am going to replace all the bushings, ball joints, and anything else that might help. Maybe lower the air pressure (not too much) in my tires. What about those plastic springs do they come with softer spring rates? I have heard that the regular 84 has a stiffer suspension than the F51 or whatever in the 85 model year. So maybe if you are going racing get yourself an 84. :L

The 84 base suspension is, indeed, about the same stiffness as the 85 Z51. In the front, it has the same spring rates as 85 Z51 but in the rear it has about 50% higher rate.

If you want a Corvette that rides nicely, any 84 is about the worst choice you can make.

Changing ball joints bushings and so forth will not make any difference in ride. A better choice would be to put springs and stabilizer bars from any 86 or 87 model on your car. Those are the lowest spring and bar rates of the early C4 series.
