Today sucked. Went to take my car for inspection, was sitting in line with an hour wait so i decided to shut her off. Big mistake. It started up but as soon as i pulled up in line, it died. It would crank but wouldnt start. Its always took a little longer for my car to start when hot, about 8-10 seconds, starts immediatly when cold. So i waited to for the car to cool down after many other attempts. Still nothing. after a while i popped the gas cap and a lot of pressure was released. Im not sure if air flew in or came out. After 2 more minutes of trying she started ! Then on the way home whenever i put the pedal at 50% or more it stumbled on acceleration. Im scratching my head to the point where im going bald. Any ideas anyone? :(

Thanks,
Mark

What about the gas tank canisters, that are in the front by the engine Junkie?

The hard start when warm and the stumble at over 50% throttle makes me think cat. With the car in nuetral and brake set run it at about 2000 to 2500 prm and hold throttle steady . if it begins to labor or lose rpm it is very likely that the cat is plugged . I would think feul pump would effect it at any temp.

Yelp, sounds like a constipated kitty. How many miles on the old one?

Check the O2 sensor as well. It has been my experience that the 2 like each other’s company when they decided to play hooky and leave you stranded.

Probably just a shot in the Dark but could the fuel filter be causing the problem??

Yes Randy It Can!! and so can a fuel pressure reg. Even a knock senser!! or Bad ECM or a Rat's nest in Muffler!!
:upthumbs gmjunkie!!

Just thought maybe that should be the first thing to change as it is cheapest of the items mentioned.

Damn, I feel like Spock sometimes--It's just logical Captain!!:L

Okay Scotty, give me full impulse power!!!!:W
