Junk, yesterday and today I had the car serviced at the Corvette shop. They put a fuel gauge on the schrader valve on the fuel rail and it read only 10 pounds! Yeeesh! I was lucky it even ran. So they replaced the pump and it now reads 46 pounds and I haven't even replaced the fuel filter yet. I asked them about your suggestions about the IAC, EGR, fuel filter, and all that and they said they were all excellent things to do so I'm going to do it this weekend.
Also, I had automatic transmission fluid and filter replaced and it drives MUCH better. What a noticeable difference. It shifts smoother and doesn't slip. HUGE difference. And they didn't find any metal either, thank goodness.
Plus, the left manifold wasn't cracked, the gasket was blown so they replaced it and what a difference. The engine is beginning to hum.
Thanks to you and all you other guys who offered suggestions.
