I finally found a place that has some good prices to have pins made. Here are the two pins I plan to get made, your comments are welcome. I plan to price these (depending upon qty I get made) around $6.00 to $7.50 each. I also plan to take another look into paypal or some form of credit card payment via the L81VetteRegistry website too..

PLEASE let me know via pm, email or post here with your thoughts.

The pins will be 1" in length and scaled accordingly ;)

:cool I like both of them Bud. But if there is one choice I prefer #2.:beer :w

I would prefer choice number 2 also- HOWEVER, I would suggest you downsize both of them to one inch and then make the choice, as both look to me to be too "busy" with a lot of writing, lines, colors etc. Once they have been downsized the choice may be easier. You may , also, want to remove some of the writing, etc. Just a different thought coming from an old, beer drinking 81 owner........

Thanks for the input :)

I'll ask about all the stuff printed on them and see what they say about being to busy, I'm sure they don't care one way or another and would hope they give me an honest answer ;)

I like proof #2 also, but I am going to have them take a look at making proof #1 in a die cast, no colors and only the Logo with no background, so the flags on the "V" stand out by themself. I hope that makes sense :crazy

Bud

I like #2 more. I think the site address on #1 takes away from the look of the pin.

I like #2 but you can also put me down for one of each if you get both.

Bud.... you've outdone your self again as usual. I'll take one of each. Any word on another run of long sleeve shirts? Sorry are were out of town this weekend. Napa was nice. Stuck in SJ for the next week. Back to the cold on the 21st. See you (hopefully) in March '04 on my next run west.

later.................. Nut

Ok now :D

I've talked to the pin company and they assure me that the second pin with the flag in the background will be "Awesome" and it will be 1.25" instead of 1" (I've pretty much made my mind up on this one ;) )

Now then:

How does this look in place of the first proof:

Please feel free to comment, good, bad or in different. Suggestions are always welcome ;)

I would like to get this wrapped up in time for Christmas, these would make excellent Christmas presents as would any of our other merchandise, hats, polo shirts, coffee mugs, denim short and long sleeve shirts.. I still have a few of every size left, once these are gone from my inventory, I will not be re-stocking the shelves, we will be on a minimum order basis.. 20 of any one item to get the price break from the embroider ;)

Thanks, Dean

I like the latest idea - the zinc alloy mold , gold color. Where / when can I buy some, from whom and how much each ????

WOW! That looks great! I'd buy both...you think you can change the logo on the first one and have the white Vette with red interior in front;) ...for obvious reasons!

Bud, count me in for which ever one you choose to go with. Personally I like #2 and the zinc alloy /gold one. Zane

I was just wondering about the pins, that last one is cool! Let me know when you get them in stock Bud and I'll make an order, doesn't matter which one....I'd even buy one of all 3.

A suggestion

Hi Bud!

Proof #2 and the zinc are my favorites.

I have a suggestion on proof 2 though. Any way we can put a St. Louis car in front of the Bowling Green. I was thinking maybe the colors of the first BG car in back with a nice charcoal metallic STL car in front. Let hear it from all you charcoal metallic owners!!

Maybe we could put both cars next to each other facing forward similar to the pic posted by Cheeseral and me.

I don't know exactly how to be very politically correct here, but I'll give it a shot ;)

The HAT PINS are going to have to wait. I received a memo from the boss here at the Registry :eek and she said something to the effect... "So how many of those will be in your Corvette Locker collecting dust once the intial sale's blintz"

You see I still have 38 Travel Mugs, 5 White Hats, 10 Black Hats : Polo Shirts I have 3 Small, 10 Medium, 8 Large, 8 XLarge and a 3 XLarge that was a special order then the person decided not to buy it, but spent $47 on the very same shirt, except it had the word CORVETTE on it at NCM during SharkFest :mad I also have Denim SHORT Sleeve Shirts, 1 Small, 3 Medium, 1 Large, 1 XLarge: Denim LONG Sleeve, 2 Small, 2 Medium.

Just to let everyone know, I UPS'ed FOUR Boxes of merchandise to Bowling Green for SharkFest @ about $46 per box. I sold maybe 3 Shirts, 2 Hats and 0 Coffee Mugs.. My buddy BLACKDOG and I stuffed everything into our Corvettes and what didn't fit I gave to the Staff at the Ramada Inn for all their great service and help they provided to me during the stay there.

Last year for Christmas I sent everyone in my family a hat, shirt and travel mug.

So until I can convince the Boss to let me spent another $400 ~ $600 for more stuff. The pins just ain't going happen for a while!

Sorry to be so blunt, but I plan to retire in August this year (2004) and I have to look out for me and my family. I enjoy doing this stuff, but to be very honest between getting stiffed a few times for merchandise, and not having the exact size on hand for orders is stressful.

This isn't to lay a guilt trip on anyone, it is the facts. I've put out a bunch of $$$ getting the Registry together and to get our Registry out there. We are one of the largest Single year Registry and have been recognized by the NCM, NCOA and mentioned in various Club news letters and even mentioned in a couple National Corvette publications.

I'm very proud of what we've done and recognition we've received.

How many Registry's have their very own NCM BRICK, a great website, great merchandise, been involved in 2 major NCM Events and over 500 members?? We've come a long ways in the 3 years of our existance.

The PINS will come, but not for a few months ;)

AND NO.. this is NOT a CRY for money or a precurser for dues, The L81VetteRegistry will remain free to all 1981 Corvette Owners.

The Registry is providing a repository and a data base for the 1981 Corvette, documenting our cars past and preserving our rightful place in Corvette History!

Bud,

I know exactly how it goes, the same thing happened to me with my shirts, lots of people said they wanted them then when I had them made up the silence was deafening, one guy even gave Sean a nasty reply.

I'll take the 3XL shirt off your hands, Brutus is always whining about me getting him shirts, just sent off the order form for it.

ps. the link to the registry needs (.com) added to it :D
