I don't know exactly how to be very politically correct here, but I'll give it a shot
The HAT PINS are going to have to wait. I received a memo from the boss here at the Registry :eek and she said something to the effect... "So how many of those will be in your Corvette Locker collecting dust once the intial sale's blintz"
You see I still have 38 Travel Mugs, 5 White Hats, 10 Black Hats : Polo Shirts I have 3 Small, 10 Medium, 8 Large, 8 XLarge and a 3 XLarge that was a special order then the person decided not to buy it, but spent $47 on the very same shirt, except it had the word CORVETTE on it at NCM during SharkFest

ad I also have Denim SHORT Sleeve Shirts, 1 Small, 3 Medium, 1 Large, 1 XLarge: Denim LONG Sleeve, 2 Small, 2 Medium.
Just to let everyone know, I UPS'ed FOUR Boxes of merchandise to Bowling Green for SharkFest @ about $46 per box. I sold maybe 3 Shirts, 2 Hats and 0 Coffee Mugs.. My buddy BLACKDOG and I stuffed everything into our Corvettes and what didn't fit I gave to the Staff at the Ramada Inn for all their great service and help they provided to me during the stay there.
Last year for Christmas I sent everyone in my family a hat, shirt and travel mug.
So until I can convince the Boss to let me spent another $400 ~ $600 for more stuff. The pins just ain't going happen for a while!
Sorry to be so blunt, but I plan to retire in August this year (2004) and I have to look out for me and my family. I enjoy doing this stuff, but to be very honest between getting stiffed a few times for merchandise, and not having the exact size on hand for orders is stressful.
This isn't to lay a guilt trip on anyone, it is the facts. I've put out a bunch of $$$ getting the Registry together and to get our Registry out there. We are one of the largest Single year Registry and have been recognized by the NCM, NCOA and mentioned in various Club news letters and even mentioned in a couple National Corvette publications.
I'm very proud of what we've done and recognition we've received.
How many Registry's have their very own NCM BRICK, a great website, great merchandise, been involved in 2 major NCM Events and over 500 members?? We've come a long ways in the 3 years of our existance.
The PINS will come, but not for a few months
AND NO.. this is NOT a CRY for money or a precurser for dues,
The L81VetteRegistry will remain free to all 1981 Corvette Owners.
The Registry is providing a repository and a data base for the 1981 Corvette, documenting our cars past and preserving our rightful place in Corvette History!
