I have a 1984 corvette that I am restoring. Many of the plastic covers are broken. Does anyone know where I can get hard to find pieces? For instance, I am looking for the cover on the passenger side that the fuse box cover fits into. Also under the dash on the passenger side above where feet would go is a large cover with a light in it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have found a lot of the small plastic parts through eBay but many just aren't available as all the older plastics tend to crack when old. Look for northern wrecking yards with Vettes as the sun isn't as bad up there and the plastics tend to last much longer.

I found a place in florida called artscorvetteparts.com that had everything I needed. Prices were reasonable and he has pictures so you can see what you're buying. Guys name there was mike and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The parts I needed he had new although he also carries hard to find discontinued used parts. This place is perfect for those of us restoring cars.

Some parts are tough especially in good shape. Most of my stuff I found at Corvettes at Carlisle. If you order online you cant be sure its "right". You'll also find there are some subtle differences for the "proper" 84 parts such as texture and the proper 84 fuse door and knob. Even that footwell cover you need has a slightly different courtesy light design and electrical construction...if anyone cared.
The NCRS is so incompetant they dont currently recognise the differences but if they get their act together in the future maybe they will.
So if its just a driver I'd search online but if you intend a long term restoration and judging I'd buy parts in person.
I intended correcting the NCRS judging manual and posting results on my site but I simply dont have the time.:(
At shows you can occasionally find an original owner car and note the differences yourself.:w

For you older vettes out there, I found a place where to get GM parts wholesale, if they have it, GM gives them older parts that are NOS to sell to their GM dealers so the dealers don't have to stock old parts for their customers.
Just fill out the application for an "account for retailers" on their home page. Where it ask for company name just type in your "Company Name" get it. After you open account just fill in GM part # where asked and it will go through in ventory to see if they have it.
If they do you pay using your own personal credit card.
And bingo, you get wholesale. It's not illegal, just say a dealer sent you, that is what my dealership told me to do when I needed a part for my 86.

Hope this is new info for you members.

I know this is an old thread but let me just pop in to say that Jason at Vette2Vette has been absolutely incredible. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

If you are in SoCal, call J&D Corvette in BellFlower Ca, just S of LA.
They have a big salvage parts operation and mfg their own body panels, pieces.Good stuff. I have a set of their update side panels and used to have their Phase-II ground effects until somebodys tire cap removed big chunks of it....

20th Street Auto Parts in Phx Az has a good selection of used/salvage c-4 stuff.

For interiors, Gulf Coast Corvette in Houston offers ALL the C-4 interior parts NEW. bezels, even dash pads, all the covers inside. They are the first I've seen that actually had the complete interior available one piece at a time.
They both have catalogs and ship.

Artscorvette seems to be unfindable, can you repost the url?
