Head lights 1999 Vette

Upon turning on the headlights, they would not pop up. Lights were on but would not come up. After several tries and upon tapping on them and turning them off and then turning them back on, they operated perfect, why.

If they work with the engine off, try checking your battery cable connections.

I have a 2000 And It did it to me.Ihad a new headlamp assembly replace.Not it workes every time.

I had that problem, along with my car all of a sudden turning off and losing all power. I'd get lots of codes, have to reset my clock, and have to reprogram my remotes. I thought it was the box below the right headlight, but after I cleaned and secured the connectors to the e-boxes in the passenger footwell a year ago, all has been well.

Had the same exact problem with my '99 along with the
Vacuum controls. Apparently when the battery blew
(previous owner) it must have affected the connections
and controls under the battery compartment. There was
something about that in an issue of Corvette Fever awhile
back. Take a look and see how things appear down there.
Acid gets into the harness and reeks havoc on the connections.
