I own a 95 Lt1 6 speed. I recently bought a set of shorty headers off of ebay for about 200 brand new. I need help with installation. Would i have to remove the alternator in order to put these on? Are there any past threads started on header installation I should see before starting this, and any other suggestions/comments? thanks

i have an L98 but go from the bottom to install the headers. shorties should be no problem and you can realistically have them installed in 3-5 hours depending on your mechanical ability.

here are some pics from my header install that may help.

not much help probably but shows how you can go in from the bottom. i'm sure other LT1 owners will chime in.

I'm thinking what Mic said. Headers will usually install from the bottom. That being said, see if you know someone who has a lift. I don't think exhaust shops will install headers for you.

i did Rich's with alittle help in 3 hours on jackstands and they were long tubes. :)

Tell the truth, Mic... it was 15 minutes for the driver's side (from the top) and 2.75 hours for the passenger side (from the top AND bottom, and even through the fender if we could have).
