I am thinking of TPIS long tube headers. I just want to make sure they pass emissions. Does anyone have these installed and do they pass ??? How about my fellow Canadians eh.

There are a number of guys here who have the TPIS headers, they have nothing but good things to say about them.

I do believe they have all the emissions equipment on there.

Yes, and yes, conditionally. It depends upon what the emissions test entails. I recommend a topic search.

All headers will increase underhood heat and work best with angle plug heads, WRT plug wire clearance.

Thanks for the reply if they pass in Ca. I'm sure they will pass in Canada. What kind of cat do you have on ???

We're supposed to have an E.O. number, which is not available for the TPIS's. The A.I.R. connections are there.

I am, for now, running a factory cat.

TPIS system for '84 and '85 Vettes

Unpacked and sitting in the driveway, the 3" mandrel bent pipes will drain the hot gasses from hot coated headers.

These two years used the four-bolt flanges on the cat. Subsequently, a two-bolt flange was used.

That is a nice looking exhaust system!:D
Glad to know the link worked, as I am finally using some of the web space I have been alloted.
I know you, for one, would love the sound moreso than the looks, Edmond.
FLows rule....stock drools.

Great looking system. I'm starting the other end first. Just completed my Allen's Exhaust, it sounds great but the tips are sticking out farther than stock. I am contemplating cutting the tailpipe down. It's a chambered exhaust, WhalePirot let me know how far your system hangs out.

If you mean loud and obnoxious on the exhaust, yes, I love that.:D

I trimmed the tips off the Flowmasters, preferring these dressier chrome tips.

The barely protrude, now. I once thouht that the interior resonance was lessened by the tips sticking out rather far beyond the rear bumper, but found that the glass top being inside the car was the reduction factor.

Thanks for the nice comments. I would like less dBs, but no ricer (not many others) will chinga with me after they hear the car rumbling along. While the fidelity is not too great, here is a taste of what a hot 406 can deliver. The engine has a lumpy idle and the Flowmasters yell for miles, when pushed.

I really should edit (shorten) the clip.

For the second time last night, I had someone tell me that my car vibrates the other cars around it; they tell me that they actually feel it when they're behind me. Needless to say, I do tend to set off car alarms when I go by. :L

I have yet to set off a building's security alarm. ;LOL
