Hello,
The driver side running light bulb burnt out on my 01. So, I went and got a new bulb and replaced it - which involved taking the headlight door, the frame it attaches to, and actual the headlight out - so I could reach down to replace the running light. I was very careful about taking everything off and putting it back together in what I thought was exactly the same position. I even made sure that all the bolts' washer marks lined up. Problem is now the headlight door does not line up properly like it did before. The gap is uneven around it when it's closed.

Is there any way to adjust this besides the trial and error of taking it apart and putting it back together?

Anyone have any info on this? I guess I'm resigned to toying with it in the garage this weekend for several more hours :(

Mike,
It may be difficult for everyone to create an image in their minds about how the headlight is mis-aligned. Can you take some pics and post them here? That may give us a better look at the situation.

The body colored door is slightly skewed to clockwise from it's normal position when the lights are off. The seam is no longer even all around the panel like it was before I started.

I guess I'll futz with it some more and take a pic and post it here if I can't get it alighed properly.

mike; i can't help with fixing the door but can help with changing the bulb, that bulb can be got'nt to from under the car with less trouble

Raise the headlight door and look on the sides. You should see a small bolt/screw head on each side of the door bracket. Loosen the bolt/screw and you'll be able to move the door to realign it.

I have the same mis-alignment. I thought it was from bottoming out after leaving a parking garage. It wasn't. It is just like yours- off enough it drives you nuts and everyone else doesn't have the problem...
