If you are familiar with the gears going bad here is a free fix that worked for me

I handcranked the headlight up
took off the 10mm nut holding the arm to the motor ( you gotta take the top cover and black side cover off )
hand cranked the motor until the shaft rotated 180 degrees
re-attached the arm
hand cranked the light back down
no vid , no pics , just good info here.....
Then hit the headlight switch....works good as new :happyanim:

WHY ?
the motor uses only 1/2 the
gear
so....you get 1 freebie fix.....:thumb

if it happens
again....brass gear time.....
worst case , it gets you by for awhile until you can repair it correctly :beer

ps....be careful out there...a lotta blue vettes have been crashing lately ;)

Just did this for a buddy and mine still works :happyanim:

How's that old saying go: Give a lazy man a tough job and he'll find an easy way to do it? Just kidding. Great idea. :)

More like necessity is the mother of invention. It happened to me on a holiday weekend .:w

quick fix till the gear gets here

vettex2, thank you for the insight and the quick fix. I was reading up for my best options when I found this thread and your quick fix. It worked for me while I am waiting for the brass gear to arrive.
