I have a 2000 2dr-coupe. I noticed this morning that when I shut off the head lights, the doors both closed but the actuator motor kept running for a while after the door was closed on the right (passenger) side of the car. I tried opening and closing again and the same thing happened.

Is there any adjustment I can make short of replacing the whole actuator motor? It would have to be fairly simple... I love my Vette but I am not much of a mechanic!

Thanks to all who contribute to the forum!

The gear that raises and lowers the head light is made of plastic and strips easily. Sounds like that's what happend to you. You can buy a brass gear that will last forever, but I am not sure it is an "easy" fix. Maybe someone that has done it can help.

Vintage,
I tried looking in my '04 manuals for this symptom but did not run across anything like this other than checking for a short to battery voltage.....I doubt that is it.

Trying doing a search for "headlights" in this forum.

Let us know how it turns out!

I've had Alta Mere in No. Richland Hills do all 4 of my C5s. They do a good job. They have branches in other places, but I only have used this one so I can't say if the others are as good.

Gracias......I'll look them up tomorrow. Need to do the '04.....

(Love that MSG)
