Headlight Stuck

Just bought an 84 and it runs great, but the driver side head light will not close back when you turn the lights off. A turn on the knob behind the motor gets it going so the motor works.

Any suggestions?

Easyiest solution a new drive motor. The setup of this motor is tricky to repair I did it three or four times and eventually gave up and replaced it. it's usually a dirty comutator or brushed, however thete is a switch which is changed by the pressure of he aramature moving end to end when the head lamp reaches the end of it's travel. all this insid of the drive motor.
