I found a great "How To " re headlight upgrade going back to7-28-01.
My question is Are 91 headlights changed the same way ? Is there any change in thinking for the best upgrade ? I want better coverage /brightness without spending a mint or blowing a lot of fuses/circuit breakers.
This kind of advice is wonderfull and will save much time.
many thanks to the author of the above HOW TO.

This is the same setup I have in my 92 vert. The Hella lamp housings are excellent quality and the APC bulbs put out a very bright white light. Summit Racing has the Hella lamps (and they come with an H4 bulb) and the H4 Xenon APC bulbs should be available at a Shucks, Kragen, AutoZone or PepBoys. The nice thing about the Hella system is that you replace the bulb assembly only if the filament burns out, just as you do with the 9000 series headlamps found on newer cars.

Another good alternative is the Sylvania SilverStar lamps. They are less costly than the Hella package and should be available at any parts store.

Neither one of the upgrade lamps will cause any problems with wiring. The factory fuse should handle the increased amperage of the APC bulb. As long as the headlight motor gears are in good shape in your car, the added weight of the glass lamp housings should not be a problem. If you do need to replace the gears, use the bronze gears for better life.

Tried the Silver stars . They are great. Inexpensive and easy to make the switch. Great brightness and span for lights. Really light up the night.
