Hi, just got done putting my corvette interior back together and now when I pull the headlight knob the center cluster of gauges malfunctions. Low fuel comes on, battery drains, oil pressure drops. Any body have any ideas?

Thanks
Cel

This is going to be a 40 poster. It sounds like there is a wire pinched. It may be the dash lights feeding back to the ground for the gauges. Try rotating the headlight switch (dimming and brightening the dash lights) and see if the gauge indications change. If not, it may be with the parking lamp or head lamp circuits. Best of luck.

So, I fired her up and turn the headlight dial and it only happens when the dash lights are on. So, where under the dash should I look and what should I look for? Im thinking its the connecter on that printed circuit board and one of the pins is touching another one? Am I think right?

Also, how and the heck do I disable the buzzer? right now it comes on and sometimes will stay on for a bit after the door is closed.

Any thoughts?

I had a problem like yours only the oil guage stop work most of the time. What I found was that when plugging in the wiring plug to the guage cluster one of the contact taps on the printed board was pushed out of place. The the guage cluster out again and check all the contacts where the wiring plug goes in.

The buzzer thing; find the buzzer and unplug it.

Thats going to be the kind of fix for this. If that connector is the exact problem, who's to say? But your thinking in the right direction. Try to methodically retrace your steps in the installation of the dash. Something is bound to stand out that could fix this. Something like "You know that piece went in kind of tough mabey I should look at that again" kind of thing.

You'll get it just be patient. The car is only so big, the trouble is in there someplace.:duh
