Help! headlights come up... does not come on...

hen i turn the headlights on, they pop up but do not turn on after a few sec or min they wipl suddenly come on and may go out driving down the road..... this has happeneda couple of times.....

Either a bad relay or a bad connection. It will take a schematic and a DVM to figure out.

I know its scary to be driving and the sudden headlights go out.....
