Is there anybody out there that has installed the headlight kit for 1984 conversion? I am talking about the one that is a non pop-up kind. I am interested in maybe doing that also when I work on the body.

Kit cost around $1000 and for the way they look i think they are a rip-off and im pretty sure everyone else will agree with me here.

Bring that custom modern look to your C4 with our non-popup headlight system. No longer will you lights be a speed brake for night driving. Our brackets are made out of 60-61 aircraft aluminum with DOT approved low beams mounted using a bubble level for adjustment. High beams are CATS performance lights. Headlight tubs are made out of ABS with a tough Acrylic molded lens cover.
The installation is very easy, everything comes "pre-mounted". You will need about 20 minutes to remove your original headlights, and about 2 hour to 2 1/2 hours to install your new headlights giving an original and aggressive look to your C4.
Low beam wattage is total of 130
High beam wattage is a total of 280

Did you think they looked cheesy or what? I saw a Corvette at a dealership the othe5r day that was I would guess a car that was raced in the road courses and the headlight conversion looked much better. It had a slight bit of bubble to it and the top back portion was blacked out. I thought it looked real good. I am like you for the money itdoes not look that good. It would be nice to find out the maker of the headlight kit put on the race cars. Thanks for the pics.

robertha; that would have been a custum job, i have attach a pic of Johny car with custum headlight, he had to mod the hood as u can see but i think it looks very NICE!!

Hey, Robertha............
That set-up you saw at the dealer was probably from C5West as you described it. Am waiting on a reply from someone who bought the kit on ebay, to see if it's worth it. Their kit is only around 500 bucks on ebay. Go see it at www.c5west.com. Look on Google as there are 2 c5wests. 1 for C4s, 1 for C5s.

Unleaded brew,

You have just made my day. Give me your e-mail adress and I will be sending you a gift certificate in the not to distant future. That is exactly the type of lights I want. They are reasonably priced. You do not know how much I apprectiate this. I have looked on the internet for two weeks trying to find the right one. You are a saint. Thanks again. Robertha

Everyone on this board has been very helpful to me, so turn-about is fair play, as they say. Maybe you should dig up more info on these. Like I said, I'm waiting and hoping for a reply from someone who has already bought these, to see if they are worth it, even at that price. Good luck.
Gordon

PS - You don't need to send a gift cert. but I would like to hear how you make out with the lights if you get them. Email address is in my personnel file.

if you can find the kit on ebay i would buy it there, i have hear alot of bad news abotu c5west in the past

Yea, I've heard the same about them. Unfortunately, it appears that the guy selling on eBay also works for c5west. Most of the negative stuff about them is the fact that their body parts don't fit well or they arrive broken. Since these lights don't have much to do with fiberglass, well..............?
I still think the set from Breathless is much sweeter, IMHO.

Hey, Bob........
Just heard from the guy who bought the lights on ebay. Said he is doing a full custom job and would be installing them this week-end. Said he would send pictures. Hope he follows through.

Unleadedbrew, Thanks for the update. I dove into the Vet tonight. I was looking the headlight assimbley over to see about taking them out. I will be looking foward to seeing the pics. Thanks again. Also I am going to take the front and rear bumpers off and have them stripped. Getting those bumpers off is a bear.

How did this turn out? I am thinking about replacing my stock (and often non-working) pop up headlights. I saw the C5West option on E-bay, but I prefer the look from Breathless.

I should build me a new hood, with those lights intergated. But a month a go, I crashed my vette :( The damage was to big to fix the vette. I did had a good insurance, so I cashed a lot. Because of the better and safer options (possabilitys) me and my wife choice became a C5. Lucky a was: I found one with a sixspeed for a resonable price and only 30k miles on the gauge, so the choice was easy.
