I just replaced my headlite motor bushings, works great. thanks to the forum for the nessary information to complete the job. Question, someone else had done the job befor me and did not reinstall the wire clip for the locking knob It is missing. Is this a nessary part? and will i have future problems if it is left off?????

I would think the only problem you would have is if you ever need to open the headlight door manually:)

I thinkthat the clip is there just to prevent the knob from moving the headlight door due to vibration. At most it may just misalign the headlight/door. I'd think that you could easily just make one from a wire (coat hanger comes to mind). It shouldnt be that hard if you already have the other one as a template.:w

Do you have a pic of the clip you need? The other day I was going through garage and found assorted weird GM wiring clips. Maybe its one of them? I certainly dont need it if it is!
