Saw a picture of a 63-67 with headlites open but not lit. What is the procedure of operating the lights? One switch to open them and one to turn them on? or?

There is a switch to open/close the headlight doors, and another to turn the lights on.

And the switch that opens and closes them (that Tom talks about) is a real pain. It must be held while they move, like when you roll your power windows up.

It would have been nice if they were designed to work like the express down driver's window in today's cars.

Would have been nice but that was 40 year ago "lack of " knowledge".
If I had one would be happy to hold the switch.
Not good for fast getaways in the dark.
Thanks.
