Heat riser orientation help

Well the 427 is finally back in the 68, and I took pics of everything except the direction that the heat riser goes back on. Anyone have a shot of one installed or just describe it.

It goes on such that the weight tends to close the valve but exhaust flow tends to push it open.

Also the flat surface goes to the manfiold and the surface with the conical seat (for the exhaust donut) goes towards the head pipe.
