Hi all. 1st post, as well as 1st vette. Been waiting a long, long time. Anyway, could someone tell me how to get rid of some of the heat that builds in the interior of the car?? It makes the air conditioning somewhat of an air movement device, rather that a cooling unit. I have a 1980, with an L48 engine.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help,

WOW! Thanks for the quick reply and the detailed post. I gota be honest though, there is no way that I can do all of the things recommended here. I'm limited by 3 small things; skill, knowledge and fear. I assume you are trying to tell me that there is no easy fix??

I was limited by all three of those things as well and did almost everything there.

Time is the 4th constraint.

Start by putting a shutoff valve in the heater line. Checking for air leaks and insulation would probably give you the next best bang for your buck but everything makes a difference.

Radiant heat was killing me. Got that fixed and found that on a cool day with the hot water valve in place was still blowing 85 degree air through the vents. Gradually began looking for sources where hot air could be introduced and have lowered that temp by about 5 degrees. Every little bit helps.

Good luck.

Bob
