Gm parts direct.com has a heater core part number 52484057. Paragon, C Central, LI Corvette also have a replacement. Question is;

Does the replacement from GM have better materials or is manufactured in a better way that would warrant a purchase, Or all all heater cores alike and built in mexico?

Purchased a new heater core last winter for my 63, bought one from the local car quest, first one didnt fit quite right, but they ordered and got me a different one that i had to grind a small portion of fiberglass on the firewall to get it to fit in the proper position. Checked the local chev. dealer before doing this, their heater core was close to 5 times the price and from what some people I had talked to said the gm replacement still required the grinding of the firewall wich is why I stuck with the car quest as to the quality difference cant say, made sure it was pressure checked before installation though, didnt want to have to do it again any time soon, good luck...

vref,

In the deleted post, you quoted a statement by a business that has been offered sponsorship here before, but has declined. He may not even realize that his comments were being posted.
