Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Heh ..Here's Another Product That Didn't Work Either....Man,..!! I Love This Hobby

Mark look at this way you saved me money and I'm greatful for it as I don't have much of it... Best of luck on getting this latest problem resolved as I know that you will... Do you have plans on bringing it down towards VA Beach at anytime to show Mike and the "Old Fa&t" your monster?? If so I'd like to be there to take a look at it and get a ride... There seems to be a little voice in my head saying order a 502.. order a 502..order a 502... At least now I'll know who to call and ask some of my questions to.. Dave..

I thought they looked like Sandersons. I have some of their cast exhaust manifolds on my wife's car. From what I have seen and heard they make a good product.

What size primary tubes do your headers have? The largest tube size that their web site lists is 1-7/8". I need something with a 2" inside diameter for my new engine.

Charles

There 1 7/8''.......

There maybe a ride in the future to see the VA boys... I'm sure Bill would get a kick out of squeaking the tires. And Mike might go over the hill when he feels the 567LBS of Torque.

Just looking at the picture, It seems that the clutch fork is too far foreward.

64 Mike

Looks that way, but could your ballstud be too long? My wife says I don't have that problem. ;LOL

When I did mine, the clutchfork was more centered in the "window." Your new shaft/rod would still be too long though.

It's the correct Ballstud for the Bell housing. There is only one Ball Stud listed for 63 -67 Corvette. According to the experts ...when the clutch is fully Dissengauged (Pedal to the Fiber Glass) the Z bar lever at the motor end should be straight up and down. That's how mine is when dissengauged fully.

But my Clutch fork is against the rubber boot when in the rest posistion. Not centered. So are you saying when yours is at rest it IS Centered??

Yep....sure is hard to get the parts right the first time ....Huh Rich...

Mark,

Just saw your post on your latest experience. On the good side this is the type of thing that builds strength of character or so I've been told. ;LOL

It does make you wonder if they have more than one length clutch fork rod. Hopefully that will be the case and easily corrected.

Rich

p.s. Just think of all the stories you will have to tell folks when the project is finsihed. :D

Yep There are 2 Early 64 65 327 ...I think (10.5")...66-67 (8 3/4") Then in 67 they standerdized it to 1 Z Bar And 1 Rod.

And I spoke with Speedirect (Randy) They shipped the correct one today. They were not aware evidently that there are different lentght clutch rods. This depends on the posistion of the motor side Z Bar lever (Moved back for BB) to clear the Exchaust Manifold.

Good company and nice people ..they followed up and took care of the problem...now lets see if this rod works.

Yeah...I'll have a lot of stories to tell about all the people that suggested I buy XYZ parts that didn't work.... So far 1 Bad steering box..1 bad clutch rod ..and 1/2 a set of SS brake lines bent wrong..

I'm going to name my Car The " Anti Phoenix" The Car That Went To The Ash's :L

Here's a picture of my fork. My Z-bar when the for is in this position is not pointing straight down. It's angled slightly toward the front. The experts told me that the fork should be positioned in the middle of the window and this is as close as I could get.

Clutch works fine.

The Z Bar Only points straight down when the clutch is fully depressed..
When it is at rest it points slightly forward...

My Clutch Fork is siting in approx the same posistion as yours. Your top pic shows the rubber tab sitting in the slot of the fork as mine is. I think it's the angle of the shot I took that makes it look like it's out of wack.

Any way here's a copy of the artical I was speaking about..

ALSO: Where did you purchase that oil pressure line from?? Do you have part numbers for the assembly ....as in the fittings and the hoses?? That looks like a sweet set up. I think it might be better then the solid line Thang...
