OK now that I deceided to replace intake keep qjet what do I do with the HEI to get it off the computer and make all this perform better. The four prong plugged is unplugged and the car runs great until I plug it back in then the car stalls when I put it in gear.Thanks

to get it off the computer you will need an earlier HEI the computer style has no advance mechinism. You probably have the distributor set in the wrong spot when you plug in the computer it controls the advance from where it thinks the distributor is. If it is not in the correct spot it will not run properly.

an early HEI has mechanical and vacuum advance mechanisms built in and doesnt require a computer any aftermarket distributor would work also.
