Greetings! My name is Steven and I'll be 25 on the 25th of this month(July). I just recently purchased a 89' Corvette. After years of saving, and trading in an almost mint 43 year old Ford.... My only dream has come true,I am now the proud owner of an excellent condition '89 Chevy Corvette. Loaded with (from what my research has told me) every option I could get (except for the 6-speed).
I'll try to get some pic's up on my day off,but I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I notice so many nice cars on this site, and I plan on keeping mine on the up and up! This site has sooooooo much info,I have gobs of reading to get back to but I do have a few questions...
As an '89 auto with 94k that runs and works great... What am I looking at for durability? Can I modify this car without breaking it? (I found the limit of my '89 Firebird quick but is still a good ride). Everyone tells me (even the extremely rude employee's at my local Cascade Chevy dealer),basically the Corvette was made for two purposes and that was durability and speed. I've only pushed it maybe two or three times and it accelerated unlike anything I've ever had! But I would like a little more pep(I'll hit that search button for good first timer mods).... Another Q is,how hard are these cars to work on honestly? Cause my 77' F150 is cake,my '88TC almost,'89 Firebird is pretty simple but this thing looks pretty cramped!
Also,it's a real pain in the.... To start cold but once started,it's easy to fire up again and again even after hours of stop and go traffic.... Just not when cold....?????? (search didn't tell me much on that). I'm sure I'll have more questions later but I have more reading to do for now...
Take care
