Help! bubbles in the clearcoat!

Guys,

I decided based on info. here that I would
have a body shop (one next to a used Corvette
dealer, I figured he must have worked on some
vettes before) wetsand and buff my acrylic
targa top.

Well, I picked it up, and they "threw in a some clearcoat
anyway".

So, the color looks good, but it has what seem to be tiny
bubbles all over it. In some places there are white spots
I assume are burst bubbles.

I think these are the kinds of bubbles I used to get when I
spray painted something and it was too humid out.

Do you guys think I should take it back and complain?
Afterall, I paid for a wetsand& buff, no clear coat.

Don't know the ins and outs about paint, but I definitely would take it back! They must have screwed something up and tried to hide the mistake by putting a clear coat over it. That's just my opinion without seeing the actual problem. I have had my car buffed before and there is no clear coat on it. Take it back and make them fix it. If they have pride in their work, they'll fix it! If not, make a complaint with the BBB and your Attorneys General office.

???they said they put some clear coat on top free of charge.

Excuse me for being a sceptic.... clear coat for free? Why? Nothing is for free!

My guess is they did something.... and fixed it with clear coat.... and really quickly too!
If you paint outside, you will get gnats or something on the coat,
OR
if you don't clean the base coat prior to cleat coat, you get fish eyes.
Regardless...something is up. Have them fix it. (I would tend to be wary of them from now on.)

But that's just me......

A lot of bubbles ?

When I got my car back from the Body shop, Jeff the owner, told me I would find a few imperfections when I polished the car, and to bring it back. I have watched him remove gnats and trash. First he takes a little wet sandpaper and rubs the spot smooth. Then he uses Meguers #3 polish and a polisher, then Mirror Glaze. Then poof , it's gone, looks perfect. Takes very little time. Sounds like you have more than a few imperfections but I'll bet it's not to hard to fix . Good luck and keep us up to date.

Les,

See the 1984-1986 forum post
I made today.

Basically, the shop won't do anything
for me.
