Guys, here's what happened. I have an Optima battery in my 93 ZR1. The top of the pos post was hitting the bottom of the metal mounting tray for the CC gear and the previous owner had put the handle for the battery between the top of the post and the metal. I sawed off the pos post today. I'm in Stanley, VA (just outside Luray). As I was finishing, I heard the doors lock and suddenly everything went dead! Put the key in the ignition, nothing! Not even the buzz for the door open warning. No lights, horn, nothing. Turn the key and more nothing. I checked the battery with a charger, it says 100%. I pulled every fuse from all three of the fuse panels and alll fuses are good. I disconnected the battery and reconnected and still nothing.
Is there an in line fuse somewhere that I can't locate? My service manuals are home (of course). And while I'm at it, how do you remove the panel on the side of the car to remove the battery? I located the bolt on the right top, the three torqs screws in the wheel well and the bolt that I can't get to is on the bottom...that's the one I can't figure how to get out.
But mainly and of most importance, why is the car completely dead?

I believe that there is a fuseable link not that far from the battery. I could be wrong ,but trace your wires down.If you find it ,it canbe bypassed with a piece of wire. When you bypass a link like that you run the risk of fire keep that in mind. But it might allow you to get to an auto parts store ,good luckand post the results

Thanks, but trace which wires down? I have the battery out..I can get to the parts store, but I need to find the link...thanks...

Problem solved....thanks to all for the response

Vette X 3 and DDS, you're both right around it. The battery tested 100% charged, but when it was put under load, it zeroed out. Bought a brand new side mount group 75 Interstae, installed it and was I happy when the underhood lights came on! One guy told me that on newer cars there are no fusable links, 93 has a max fuse block (2 of them, actually).
No need to check your Helms when you get home, DDS.
When I sawed off the top post, it did indeed break the connection from the top mount where a post comes up from inside the battery, the the side mount. So, either way I had to do something. Couldn't have the top post eventually rub through the plastic handle and arc again and I didn't know about the composition of the terminal.
I really want to thank all of you for your excellent response time and your expertise in solving this. A special thanks to WVZR1 who let me call him. He saved me once before with side emblems and now this, too.
I'll catch up to you sometime, Dave, and drinks and/or dinner are on me.
Thanks again all y'all....problem solved.
