I got my parts in and have started the project of converting my 78 to vert. I have tried searching for old threads but most of the pics don't come up any more.

Can I get some pics of inside the rear compartment on some convertibles so that I can compare as I try to install these parts and find out what parts I might be missing. Especially a pic of the pillars and how the shoulder restraints mount.

Thanks

No shoulder harness in mine. & 74 vert. Dave

Might have more pix if you need anything else . Dave

Those are great. Just what I was looking for. If you have one that shows the hinges mounted for the deck that would help also. I really appreciate it.

Purchase any of the 68-75 AIMs. All of them show the factory installation of the convertible goodies. Hinges, decklids, hardware, weatherstripping, windshield header, etc, etc.

Remember: coupe and convertible door glasses are different. You are going to need a pair of convertible door glasses.

:)

I bought the 75 AIMS along with the 78 AIMS. I just really don't like them especially since I have nothing there to begin with. Using them along with things like the pics that Nobodycares posted help me to put what the AIMS pics are showing in perspective.

On something like this, I haven't actually ever seen the convertible setup in person before. Now I can take the measurements and parts from AIMS and visualize what they are trying to show and have a little more confidence in where I am mounting things.

When's the next Corvette event in your area? Seems to me you should be able to attend, take the camera, and shoot all the stock convertible pix you want. Talk to any convertible owner, tell him/her what you're doing, and they will probably let you take pix to your heart's content.

:)

Those were perfect. They show all of the areas I was hoping to see. Now it makes a little more sense on how this will all go together. I appreciate you taking the time to post those for me. I owe you one!:beer

I think you got me covered. Thanks again.

By the way, very nice car. :cool

I just noticed the last pic. I have been trying to decide about the rear of the car, whether it needed a different rear or spoiler to look good as a vette. I like how it flows with the rest of your car just like that. I think I'm going to keep my rear bumper the same.

Nice pics.

My '68 convertible does not have the receiver shown.

Likewise, she doesn't have the the decklid guide pin which fits into the receiver above.

Otherwise my decklid hardware is pretty much the same as shown.

:)
