car is finally on the road for the summer. my dad took it to work the past two days and i had it out tonite and took it to a cookout. its running pretty good , but i was getting gas and as i was pulling out of the station i hit one of those gas tank covers, the things where the big trucks put in the gas. anywayyy. the way i was holding my hand on the wheel, the bump made me hit the horn pretty hard. wasnt a big bump, didnt hurt the car or anything but i nailed the horn button harder than normal. as far as i can remember the horn was always a bit sketchy and you had to hit it just right for it to work. well i dont know what i did but i made it super sensative. everytime i hit a bump, or turned the wheel a certain way on the way home the horn would go off and sometime get stuck until i jiggled the horn button. boy did i feel like a jackass. anyway i got home and decided i was just gonan disconnect the ground wire from the horn. well i couldnt find the damn thing. im thinking that something is screwed up behind the horn button on the steering wheel. but im not sure how to get at it. how do you get the center circle of the steering wheel with the corvette emblem on it off. i had a similiar problem on my IROC where i had to replace some horn switch in the steering wheel. but on the vette im not sure how to take off that cover without breaking it. anyone else ever have a horn problem? any help in fixing this is greatly appreciated. thanks im supposed to go to a cruise nite tomorrow nite and really wanna get this fixed!!
