I have a couple small pin hole fluid leaks in my speedo cable lower end (37 years of rubbing)

I have a 2 peice cable. At the trans end I have about a 2 foot section that couples to the cable coming down from the dash.
I can't seem to find a reference of replacement for this 2 ft section. Only a 71 inch one peice.
Replacing only the short cable would make life sooooo much easier.

Was this a factory set-up???? 1969, ~8100th off the line (Nov '68)

Question # 2 - Should trans fluid be able to get into the lower end of the speedometer cable through the connection of the trans? Do I have an "O" ring problem in the trans?

You have a two piece cable from a much later car that came with cruise control. Pre-cruise cars all had the long one piece cable you've found already.

You can get a replacement lower piece by searching for '77 and up cables if you want.

Thanks Mikey!

Update" '77 Lower cable is 53", 78-82 is 49"

Parts book at KOI autoparts states 1969 Corvette, lower speedo cable, male - female, 24"
REPLACED with 40", now what am I gonna do with an extra 16" (of speedo cable that is).

Try to fix the holes in the old one that's what.
