Help on Brake Rotors

I am restoring my 1977 Vette and I think I will have to replace the 4 Rotors I saw that Mid America has a set of 4 Rotors for about $199.99 has any one ever used these rotors from Mid America I also saw in Rick's rotors for about $68.00 each I am a bit confused with the price difference. Please any advise will be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure Mid-America has a great product, but you might want to check some other sources, such as Van's or Stainless Steel Brakes, too just for sake of comparison.

While it might not be the case with rotors, my experience has shown that these catalog house often get their products from one or two sources. The only way to really know is when the shipment comes from a company other than the one you ordered from. I may try to start a new topic on "sources". Good luck with your brakes.

Most of the less expensive brake rotors are coming out of China. These are OK for just cruzin but not recommended for racing or heavy braking requirements. (They do not dissipate the heat as well) If it were me I would call them before ordering just to make sure of what you are going to get.

That's great advice. I don't think I would trust my ability to stop to poor quality rotors that were likely to warp, or perhaps even shatter.

I once purchased some tools on "sale" at Carlisle that were foreign-made, usually Chinese. The tools usually look good, but the dimensions are way off and/or they break easily. Ultimately, I guess you get what you pay for.

you know that a great question SPDFRK , I too am looking at brakes and wonder about the price differents , I would pay more if I knew I would not have to replace my rotors for a long time , let us know what you come up with
