Hello All,
I was lucky enough to find a pair of gunmetal shoulder harnesses & seat clips for my 69. I also purchased a pair of shoulder harness reinforecement plates from Paragon thanks to a NG member. Can anyone point me to or send me photos of where to mount the shoulder harness reinforcement plates & possibly provide some mounting tips. Also a photo of where the seat belt clips mount on the seat so I don't make any unnecessary holes. :)
Thanks in advance for any/all help!
PS
One of the retractors sticks. Is there a tip to get it to work smoothly again?

This is a '67, but the shoulder belt reinforcement should be in a similar location on the '69; it's attached with four soft aluminum body rivets. :)

Hello John,
First off, thanks so much for your advice regarding where to buy the reinforcements - I purchased them from Paragon, thank you.
Next, thanks very much for the photo of where they should be mounted. Unfortunately, I can't figure out from the photo where you mean. I assume you are referring to the underside of the car, right? That the metal reinforcements are mounted to the underside? That would only make sense.
You wouldn't happen to have a photo showing where the retractors mount inside, do you? That might help me to understand things better.
Sorry for all the questions John, and thanks for your assistance.
Regards,
Jim Pascale in NJ

Jim,

The mounting holes in the fibreglass are shown in John's photo...just to the right of the reinforcement piece he's holding.

:w

Click on his photo for an enlargement. The plate mounts on the underside, and the shoulder belt bolt runs through the body (from the inside) into the plate.

Thanks. I see that but I don't know where that is from the inside of a 69.
Also, I'm feeling all over my seat to find the 2 holes in my seat to mount the shoulder belt "holder" but damn I can't find'em....:(

Thanks!
So the retractor is mounted in the floor, right? Does the belt then loop up over the seat (held in place by belt loops mounted on the seat) and then clip into the lapbelt, right?
Thanks for all your help!
Jim

Yo
u should find it under the carpet near the "rear of the inner wheelwell" on either side.

Wouldn't surprise me if the reinforcements were already there - even though it was a low-volume option on 67's, almost every car had the reinforcements; they had a plastic plug in the bolt hole. Pull a rear wheel and take a look.
