I have a 76 vette with white exterior, i was wondering what the best thing would be to make my vette look better....new carpeting, new seats, or chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaner cover

You do a lot to a Vette to make it look different. But a lot of work can be tacky and look bad, so you have to watch.

It also depends on what you want to do. Look in the mods board, I don't remember his name, but he did a number of risky mods. In my opinion, they turned out really good. But not done well, it would have been disastrous.

i have been working on my 1970 vette for a year now, this is the order i am doing things: engine,suspension, radio , tires, paint and last interior. i figure you dont want to have a nice paint job messed up by getting banged up in a shop during mechanical work, and you dont want new carpet/interior ruinged when sanding for a new paint job....

no, thats another reason its been a year. i do some of the minor mechanical stuff myself, but my house only has a carport on a steep driveway (not the optimum setup for the back yard mechanic) and my hours at work are long and at odd times so most of the time i opt for the lazy man's way , as far as the interior, i did cheat and have the seats re-upholstered(leatherin new interior color choice) and the seat belts redone(webbed in new interior color choice) the belts were big $$$$!! but i figure safe elts are important . i did the seats for comfort, the originals were sagging and worn vinyl. when its time to paint, i will pull the seats and belts out so they dont get ruined.
