Help: small oil leak??!!

My low mileage 98 6m has been sitting in the garage for about 2 months due to the bad weather. I noticed yesterday that there was a very small amount of oil on the floor. It's close to the center of the car about 1' ahead of the rear axles. I couldn't reach it at the time, so stuck a broom handle in it. It's fairly clear, some type of low viscocity lube. Never happened before.

I did change my oil about 3 months ago - could this be a result of over filling or something?

Any thoughts?

HI there,
Early c5 did have an issue where when a car sits, the oil seals in the transmission or differential sometimes take a set and leak a drop or 3.
The repair is to just drive it and the seal will reconform.
If after you drive it a few days, the leak is still there, you may need to have the seal replaced.

Thanks for the info. I took a closer look at the leak - it's redish fluid dripping from where the transmission and differential meet. This weekend, I'll put it up on jacks to take a closer look. Anything else I should look for?

My 2000 6-speed convertible just developed a leak where the tranny meets the rear end. This time of year the car is my daily driver and has been so since April (so it is not a dried seal from sitting). 27K on the car now, bought it almost a year ago with 22K on it. Any idea of how much to fix? Should I torque the bolts first & see if it stops? As I usually only change the oil myself, I do not have a service manual. Can some great CAC member look up the troque specs for me?
